Today, we are reducing the price of metric samples ingested by up to 84% for Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus (AMP). Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus (AMP) is a fully managed Prometheus-compatible monitoring service that makes it easy to monitor containerized applications at scale. With AMP, you can use the open source Prometheus Query Language (PromQL) to monitor the performance of containerized workloads on AWS or on-premises. AMP automatically scales the ingestion, storage, and querying of operational metrics (from, for example, your Amazon Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS) clusters) as workloads grow or shrink, and is integrated with AWS security services such as AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), AWS PrivateLink, and AWS CloudTrail to enable fast and secure access to data.

With AMP, you pay only for what you use, based on metric samples ingested, metrics and metric samples stored, and query execution time. We are reducing the current price of metric samples ingested depending on volume. The new pricing is as follows:

  • $0.90 per 10M samples ingested for the first 2 billion samples
  • $0.35 per 10M samples ingested for the next 250 billion samples
  • $0.16 per 10M samples ingested for anything over 252 billion samples (cumulative sum of previous 2 tiers)

For more details on the new AMP pricing for all supported regions, visit the AMP Pricing page. These pricing changes are applicable in all currently supported regions in which AMP is currently available. Reduction in pricing for existing AMP customers will be done automatically effective May 4, 2021. To learn more, visit the AMP page, or get started with the AMP documentation.
